WannabeH 114 Posted March 7, 2016 Hi, I'm 7 weeks post op. I'm finding most meats (fish, pork, mince etc) taste dry and bland, even though my family members tell me it's juicy and tasty. Has anyone had this experience, and did your tastebuds improve after a while?
JupiterinVirgo 846 Posted March 7, 2016 Yes and they hurt. I like to buy a fine cut of beef, cook it in sauce in a slow cooker all day. You can do this with most meats, and it makes it wet and it goes down much easier.
tappingmom 85 Posted March 7, 2016 I'm almost 3 months out and I still can't eat beef. chicken breast is iffy, too. I primarily eat fish. I have to be extra careful to chew thoroughly, meat getting stuck is NOT fun.
papoose 48 Posted March 7, 2016 I cook all my meats in a slow cooker. Don't reheat in microwave. Uses lot of liquids to soften.

tamjay40 0 Posted March 7, 2016 (edited) I'm 2.5 years out and can eat any meat if I chew well (especially pork) but it was difficult at first I had to have sauce or gravy on it in the beginning. I remember only tolerating dark meat chicken w/gravy to begin with. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited March 7, 2016 by tamjay40
