Kick my butt, please

Recommended Posts

I have surgery in November 2014. I had about 100 pounds to lose. I lost right at 50 pounds by the following June. I haven't lost since.

I'm eating whatever I want. And it's very carby. Cookies, potatoes, sherbet, bread. Whatever looks good at the moment.

I need to get my motivation back. It wasn't hard to do the healthy diet when I was doing it. It's just so easy to not do it. Know what I mean?

So, kick my butt. Tell me what I already know but have been ignoring. Help me get myself back on track!!

The process to be accepted for surgery was grueling. Many tests, procedures and interviews tested my resolve. After jumping through all of those hoops, I was not accepted by insurance therefore my operation was "self pay". All of these factors were enough for me to put my entire being into making this a successful endeavor. And now, almost 8 months after my journey first started, I am down 73 lbs, with no more horrible knee pain, no more sleep apnea, my diabetes has been stopped, my blood pressure is down, and I can sit at a booth in a restaurant (not having to ask for a table). I fit comfortably in airplane seats and can exercise nonstop for up to 45 minutes. All in all, I'd say the trade off has been a good deal for me. We all have to decide for ourselves if it is worth it. All I can do for you is share my experience.

Rhayla! How dare you do this to yourself? I absolutely CANNOT believe you got half way through a hundred pounds and just stopped. I mean you quit!! Not OK Rhayla! I can see you now, sitting out on a sandy beach, while men dressed in speedos fan you with grape leaves. Women pass by peering over their oversized shades and your oh-so-fabulous body. And you give them a wink and a nod that they too can be fabulous just like you!! Just Like You Rayla!

But wait that isn't the scene right now. Oh hunni you are still fabulous but we are only halfway there.

Put that milkshake down and pick up a Protein shake. There are women out here waiting for your success to prove they can be successful too.

That's an order soldier!

(But seriously I really wish you the very best. I'm one month in and sick of this already. Jeez. :( )

It sounds like you know what you are doing wrong, it's just a matter of getting back on the right track. Like you said, when you are doing it, it is not difficult. It's just getting back there that is hard. Maybe you need to do some soul-searching to try to get at why you are allowing self-sabotage with your nutrition. Perhaps there are some underlying issues there? For me it was emotional eating, and before I did the work and got a handle on that, nothing lasting was going to change. Good luck to you!

First of all throw away all the crappy junk food in your house away. You can't eat what isn't there. Do not replace it ever! It takes a good month to get back in the habit of doing what you are supposed to, so get started today. You made it half way, think how amazing you will look when you reach goal. Sure it will be hard, but you can do it!

I am in the same boat, I am 2 years post op, lost 100 lbs, and have 90 left to go. I had amazing result for the first 6 months, and almost nothing since then. I had not gained, thank god, until the last 3 months. I am up 11 lbs now. One thing that helped me get back on track was seeing that number go up on the scale. I worked way to hard to get where I am to let the weight come back!

I have returned to my shakes and high Protein foods. I just have to keep telling myself that I did it before, I can do it again. After a few days, your pouch goes back to the smaller size, and it makes it sooo much easier!!

Suck it up for a few days, eat nothing but Protein Shakes, and get your pouch on your side again!! You can do it!!

I don't want to sound extreme  but if you have to live on scrambled eggs in chicken broth and Protein shakes for a few days just to get back on track, it is a small price to pay. And I know you will be hungry and suffer it thru it but you got this. You have already done it so you KNOW you can do it...now you just HAVE to do it -- for your health and to regain control of this situation and your health. If you felt great losing 1/2 of your weight, imagine how much better you will feel at your goal. The best is yet to come. Good luck! I know you are going to kick these bad habits and get back on track.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
