Well I have put a lot of consideration into this and because I cannot find any post with complications or negative results with Dr. Illan. I see that his past patients are very happy with their choice in picking him for their sleeve. After many conversations with Bill Yanez, Dr. Illan's coordinator I decided Dr. Illan is right for me. Every time I have a question Bill has got back to me right away with answers and I love the fact the even Dr. Illan is available to answer questions on the forum and on the phone. I cant get my PCP to call me even if my life depended on it and the nurse always says they will call back but it is usually several hours later or the next day if at all. I am saving money and almost there, I am looking into having it in May hopefully I will have my tax return in by then. I cant wait to get the process started.

I love Dr. Illan and his staff. The hospital was great and so was everyone with Bariatric Pal. Bill and Stacy went way out of their way to make us feel special. Bill will always be quick to answer any questions. I love that I have a nutritionist available to answer questions anytime. Dr. Illan will call or email to answer your questions before and after surgery. I am so glad I went with Bariatric Pal.

I am doing great. No complications. No pain. My husband went with me. We were there 5 nights and 6 days. We went the day before my surgery instead of the day of. That was the best thing we could have done!

I guess you could say I was the perfect patient. I had some gas pain and that was it. I never got nauseous and sick. So fortunate.

I had my surgery sleeve in Tijuana Mexico by Dr Corvala and it was great. Hospital was so clean you could eat off the floor, nurses wore white uniforms with royal blue piping, Dr Corvala and his team would come in twice a day to check on me. The total cost for surgery was 6500, so with flight, meds and surgery it cost 7500. I was thrilled. Drs come from all over the world to learn from this doctor and just not for weight lose he's great. But the only problem is you need counceling before hand because you lose the weight but your brain still has the same thinking and habits.

One question I do have besides surgery how do you get rid of excess skin and cellulite?

Wow that was an expensive surgery! I didn't even pay $5000 for mine. We received counseling up front from the doctor and the Bariatric team.

If your looking at plastics I would suggest calling Stacy or Bill with Bariatric Team MX. Stacy knows all about it. She has done it herself.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
