retzlpa 98 Posted March 6, 2016 Well, pain got the best of my head and I fell back to old habits! I have been making very poor choices on eating and haven't been able to exercise much. So, I come here to write this knowing it will be here for all to see and comment on. This way I know I will do something about it. Fortunately I haven't gained any weight, but I haven't lost any either. So, today I will take time to write up a plan and start all over again Monday morning. Djmohr 6,965 Posted March 6, 2016 @@retzlpa Well, it happens! I am right there with you. Last week I did not make the best choices 3 days in a row. Unfortunately I gained 2 lbs! Now, I certainly didn't go completely nuts but I ate a lot of salty chips and crackers so I am guessing I gained Water weight. the important thing is that we recognize it and get back on track. Give yourself a break, we are human......
jj7481 363 Posted March 6, 2016 You're human and you know where you got off track. Get back on course like you did before and resume the success.
GermanShepherdMama 145 Posted March 8, 2016 Yeah, I feel ya. I wrote a paragraph about how crappy I'm doing right now with eating, and then I didn't post it because I wasn't brave enough. This guilt has to be the worst. *hugs* Do what you need to do to get back on track.
retzlpa 98 Posted March 8, 2016 I've gotten back on track of sorts. I was switched from oxycodone to morphine for pain relief. The problem is that I think it also numbs the full feeling while I am eating, so i really have to watch portions. I haven't been exercising much the last 4 weeks because of knee and back pain, but now that our snow is gone I can start walking again. sallo 56 Posted March 14, 2016 I understand. I've been eating whatever goes down and is tolerated, even if it's not the best choice health wise. I'm going to try and do better this week. I don't want to fall back into old habits either.
audnmac8 44 Posted April 25, 2016 Im almost 1 yr post op and lost 137 pounds but gained 15 back....I can take in more food which is scary and I need to get in control of myself and food intake!! phaetondreams 1 Posted June 1, 2016 I'm in a similar boat. I'm almost six years post-op and have done great until the last year and a half. After surgery I lost a total of 85 lbs; I've gained 30 of it back. I also notice that I've fallen back into some of my old habits; I don't get the 'full' sensation that I did originally and, unfortunately, I can eat as much as I used to. I'm so frustrated with myself! And disappointed. I've contemplated having a revision (Banding or sleeve or even redoing the pouch) but my surgeon won't do that. I try to take it one day at s time but find my thoughts are more and more on food. . Advice, thoughts, suggestions are welcome... KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 1, 2016 Try going back to basics. Do the 5 day pouch test. You may also want to find a psychologist who specializes in eating disorders to help you deal with emotional eating.
