ttgill 13 Posted March 5, 2016 I'm approved and starting to prepare myself physically and mentally. I have 2 more days of low-carb no sugar and then Tues all liquid (any suggestions here?) Trying to prepare my bag and wonder if I should take things to occupy my 2 day hospital stay or am I over thinking? Will I be occupied enough? Joined a gym too today now I just have to find my motivation to drive me. I will be so glad to be lighter so maybe exercise will be enjoyable! mamakatx3 1 Posted March 8, 2016 I have not had the surgery yet so I'm totally no help.... just wanted to say congrats on your date. My birthday is March 9th so your post caught my eye
DaisyAmy 561 Posted March 8, 2016 So exciting!!! I didn't have to do the liquid only thing, but I would imagine Jello, sugar free Popsicles, etc will help In the hospital, I really didn't do anything. I read here and FB, etc, so be sure to bring your phone charger. I watched a little tv. Overwhelmingly, you'll read on here that people don't use half of what they take to the hospital. I do recommend some loose (pj?) shorts to wear for booty protection when you're walking the halls Best wishes for you and congrats!!!
2goldengirl 2,076 Posted March 8, 2016 I'm just a day behind you! I'm bringing one of my towels from home because I DO plan to shower. Hospital towels are dinky and scratchy. PJ pants for walking the halls. Chapstick, moisturizer, hand cream (I'm picky). I may toss in my favorite fleece throw, because it makes me feel cozy. I may throw in a couple my favorite flavors of decaf/herb teas. Hot Water is easy to come by in the hospital. Is your preop day full liquid or clear liquid? I've got V-8 in the house, and I made beef and chicken broths this week so I've got those on tap. I can add unflavored Protein powder. I took a vanilla Premier Protein shake and tried adding a Starbucks Via Decaf to it, it was good! I'm not so big on the sweet.

DaisyAmy 561 Posted March 8, 2016 I was glad to have shorts over pants, because when I was in bed, they have those leg things on you to promote blood flow. And they're HOT!!!!
