Just had to share this new find

Recommended Posts

So I haven't posted in quite a while. I'm a year and half out, down 130 lbs, size 6, and loving my new life including all the hard work I put into maintain it.

Just had to share this new find for those past the many post op stages. This snack is pretty good and holy protein!!!!!

Yep. Lots of Quest fans around here. I found them to have kind of a styro-foamy texture, but the flavoring was good. Wish they weren't so super pricey!

I can do them for a few bits then they taste like cardboard to me. But I wish I liked them for an easy snack in a pinch.

I've created a closed Facebook group called Bariatric Surgeries 2016 if anyone would like to join! I still have to schedule a date for my surgery, but I'd to receive/share pre-op, post-op, and any advice others have!

I've had those Quest chips before but just couldn't do it. I was doing an ideal Protein diet and they had some soy puffs that were awesome!

I like the Quest cheese Protein chips. I eating a bag of the sour cream and onion flavor. Not bad. Only need half the by to satisfy my crunch need. S for the price, they are cheaper on Amazon, as are most Quest products.

Quest chips are good to go in my book !

If you really wanna make 'em great.........mix up a fresh batch of guacamole and a pitcher of skinny margaritas and let the good times roll.

FWIW......it takes some exceptional music....at least an album's worth to slice, dice and stir a proper batch of guacamole......thirsty work. A pitcher of skinny 'ritas should suffice for said efforts.

All that is required is a bag of Quest chip goodness and somebody to enjoy them with.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
