jeanfun 3 Posted March 4, 2016 I'm looking into a VSG to make it easier on my caregiver. I have PPMS (primary progressive multiple sclerosis). Wondering if anyone else with ms has had WLS Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted March 4, 2016 I don't but just wanted to welcome you. I don't know if there is anyone on here who has it but you may want to ask your surgeon if he or she has had any patients with MS. Best of luck. I hope you are able to get your questions answered. CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted March 4, 2016 I am not sure I understand your meaning. You are considering the VSG to make it easier on your caregiver? I assume that if you weigh less it is easier for the caregiver? I don't know the medical constraints around MS and Weight loss surgery, but from a motivation point of view, it really works alot better if YOU really want it for yourself. It is not so easy... and during the low times you need that internal motivation, goals and dreams to fall back on.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted March 5, 2016 I just saw a post from @demonchick. I am also going to write out Multiple Sclerosis and Weight Loss Surgery so that if someone is looking for this topic it will be easier to find. I hope you find someone who can help answer your specific questions.

jeanfun 3 Posted March 12, 2016 Today was my first PCP appointment for the supervised diet. Didn't weigh as much as I thought. Let the journey begin. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted March 12, 2016 I met someone today whose mom had MS and WLS about 10 years ago. He said that the weight loss really made a difference for her. Thought I'd pass that along. It sounds really encouraging. 1 MN_Meg770 reacted to this
