It's not a lie when it's none of their business!!!! Your allowed to keep your medical business or any personal business for that matter private.

But if it's bugging you try A truthful response that still protects your privacy.

So, I'm a little odd, I have no problem telling people how I lost weight. I too work in a school and I had my surgery the summer of 2014. I loved that people noticed my weight loss. There were a couple of people who were a little annoying, but I ignored them for the most part. Now that I'm two years out no one says anything. I think most people have forgotten that I was heavy

This unfortunately isn't an option for me. I work in the automotive industry where 99% of my coworkers are men. And at my job of that 99% male populous, over half are gym nuts. They would never understand.

They are all about this supplement and that workout and how long they spent in the gym and how much they bench...... Yada yada. It came in handy when I was looking for some guidance on protien shakes and bars.

Which is also pretty lucky because mostly they just leave me alone and congratulate me on the loss.

One nice thing about working with men, is they won't ask you the kinds of invasive questions women will, for fear any female health questions might lead to lady problems, and they don't want to hear that. Working in a male dominated field has some perks, fewer nosey women.

That's definitely true! There are perks. One is that my closest friend at work is a guy and I can tell him ANYTHING without worrying about him blabbing to everyone. ????

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
