SweetPeas 117 Posted March 3, 2016 My NUT cautioned against rice and Pasta in the puree phase since they can get stuck. I just started pureed food today and am SO happy to have some real food. It is difficult, but so much better than liquids.

Cervidae 2,389 Posted March 4, 2016 @@MozzaWehsha rice is a big risk in the first severeal months because it can indeed get stuck. Might I suggest pureed chili with a dollop of low fat or fat free sour cream? Or perhaps pureed chicken, humus, and taco sauce (this one is addictive!)? Another favorite of mine (my puree phase was in the fall of last year) - greek yogurt, pumpkin puree, cinnamon/pumpkin pie spice. Deelish!
MozzaWehsha 58 Posted March 4, 2016 Great ideas thanks...what about mashed potatoes Sent from my GT-N7100 using the BariatricPal App
esskay77 785 Posted March 4, 2016 I did have mashed potatoes--nice and pureed. And I am not a big fan but that was suggested and worked nicely. That and yogurt, sugar free apple sauce, ricotta cheese bake, and if you whip some cottage cheese so it doesn't have any lumps, that works, too. And Tomato Soup.< /p>

SweetPeas 117 Posted March 4, 2016 Cottage cheese, unsweet apple sauce, strained cream Soups, ricotta bake, and yogurt should all be ok for the puree stage.
