LSuther277 0 Posted March 3, 2016 I'm new here. Hello to all! I just had my first consultation appointment with the surgeon on Monday and have started the high Protein, low carb eating plan. I'm really struggling with it - I feel so hungry all of the time. I'm not even absolutely sure which surgery type I am going to have. I have lots of questions so will be reading the forums a lot! I'm type 2 diabetic, not on insulin, but I do take an injectable drug called Byetta twice a day with meals. I feel like I don't know what to eat and wondered if anyone knows where I can go to get a printed diet that tells me exactly what to eat and when. I am keeping a food journal. I have all of my pre-surgery appointments scheduled but I don't know my surgery date yet. P.S. I have a headache.

livvsmum 2,369 Posted March 4, 2016 Welcome! I'm sure you will get lots of helpful information in the forums! Have you met with a dietician? They would be able to work with you to come up with a specific food plan.

LSuther277 0 Posted March 4, 2016 I have not met with a dietician yet. I'm going to whine for a minute. I'm on day three of no "white" food. Struggling a bit; I'm hungry. The food journaling helps. So far I've stayed under 900 calories per day. I have a headache. Someone said that getting to Ketosis will be easier after a few days. Struggling to drink the 90 ounces of Water. Ok, done whining. I had my Psych eval yesterday and was approved for surgery through them. Now the doctor's office can submit it to my insurance. Then I guess we wait. In the meantime, I have all of the other appointments to go to: Cardiology, Pulmonary, Endoscopy, blood work.
