Had my annual mammogram last night.

Just roll those puppies out there - how sad!!!!!!!!

Yup...implants. Here they come. I've had the consult all ready - that sealed the deal!

Now I really have to seriously research....any advice?

Definitely do your research. There are actually a lot of decisions to be made when it comes to implants. Are you willing to travel? Which surgeon? Which material? Which shape? Which size? Under or over the muscle? What type of lift, if any? Your surgeon should be able to help you with a lot of those questions, but it's good to be educated about all the options ahead of time.

It wasn't as bad for me this time. Maybe she didn't compress as much. I have almost no fat left (it's so sad, lol). I think she was making a paninni...

In the past, I had plenty, an boy, it hurt!

I have a surgeon that did my arm lift, Tummy Tuck, and panni. She is who I had a recent consult with, and am strongly considering going with her. She has a lot of experience with WLS patients and I've been pleased with my experiences so far.

A lift won't work for me, I really have no fat tissue (you can see ribs through my boobs, ugh). My skin is pretty thin, and she has concerns about the implant showing through. However - because my nipples are a little low, she's worried about slippage which makes me a better candidate for over the muscle.

We could do under (which is how I am leaning), and see if I'm happy with how it looks. I'm going to do an extended mini thigh lift and belt lift later this year (if all goes according to plan). Adjustments can be made then if necessary during the same surgery.

I originally went with over the muscle and I'm going to be getting a revision to under the muscle. I got my implants after having lost 90 pounds "on my own" back in 2010/2011. Back then I still had *some* real breast tissue. So I did Gummy bear implants over the muscle with a donut lift.

I then went on to re-gain and re-lose and re-gain and re-lose weight over the next 4 years to the point that in July 2014, I was back within 10 pounds of my highest weight (so 80 pounds more than when I got my implants). I decided to get sleeved and have lost 100 pounds since then. So am now 20 pounds below what I weighed when I got my implants. I now have NO real breast tissue and my implants are visible below my skin. They have also sagged a bit. So I am probably going to get a lollipop lift and move the implants under the muscle at some point in the future. But my priority right now is my spiral thigh lift and butt lift that I plan to have in August or September.

@@JamieLogical Thanks - it sounds like we have very similar concerns. Sorry you're going through it again. But I'm sure you'll be happy when it's all done. :-)

I was told moving my nipples was an option. Not really a lift, just move them to where they should be (they are a little low, below center line). I don't know if I want to do that. That may wait until I see if I'm happy with where things end up (or down!). This is why I'm choosing things in this order also.

I also have a lot of extra under arm skin. She was very conservative with it with the arm lift knowing I was pursuing the implants. Putting volume back will take up some of this. Since there will be a surgery after the implants, she will most likely wait until then to finish removing that final excess skin.

I better be done after surgery #3! I know my bank account will be....

Yeah, the thigh and butt lift will be surgery #2 for me and I don't really have a timeline for the breast revision. I've discussed it a lot with my surgeon and we have a plan, but since we can't do it at the same time as the thigh/butt lift, I am thinking it might be another year our before I can get it done. The expense, the time off work, the recovery.... have to figure out how to make it work along with everything else going on in my real lift. The good news is, in a bra, my boobs still look great. So I can live with them like this a while longer.

@@JamieLogical thank heaven for good bras!! :P

I'm lucky I can mix in some working from home - so I can get it all done this year.

Haha, I'm in the same boat. I was a double D, now I'm down to a C. I'm 31, and these puppies are looking about 84. They look great in a bra, but I have no idea how to even go about attempting to date anyone. How do I put in a dating profile "appears in good condition, but when you check under the hood..."

My cleavage is false advertising!

Mine are over the muscle - which is not considered good by all plastic surgeons. i dont have any visible scarring as they were able to do this just via the nipple. I know that mine look and feel much more natural than some women have.

My advice is to make sure your surgeon's "asthetics" align with yours. also, be sue that you get multiple consults... that guided me alot in determining size etc.

I was told the same thing that many hear - that people regret going to small. I had plans to go much bigger than I did until a woman PS asked me how I would feel about needing to wear a large top considering that my butt is like a size 2/4/6 range. She made a compelling case once I looked at it from an overall "look" perspective. My lover at the time tried to talk me out of doing it at all. He said something that influenced me too... I was on my way to a vacation in NYC - and he told me to notice all the 60 year old women with huge implants and with age and weight gain, perhaps look way heavier due to the implants. I did notice it, and recognized with my body type,i could someday look like that - which i didn't care for.

Even though my implants are small, I am considered big breasted in my circle of friends and get more attention about it than I would actually prefer. I am one of those who does NOT regret keeping the implants a modest size. Just another voice to the conversation - it is a very personal decision.

@@CowgirlJane

Thanks for the feedback.

I've gone over pics of what I want. Although we haven't discussed "cc's"'yet, she understands what I'm looking for. I want girls again, but I don't want anything that's going to get in the way (if that makes sense). I'm very active and athletic. Hey...my golf swing is important! Lol.

I'd rather go through a lift to remove the excess skin than have big ones to fill up the skin.

I'm also small. (I'm a small/extra small in tops and bottoms.). Would look pretty silly IMO with big boobs. It's all about proportion.

My problem is a little different than yours, but I definitely sympathize. I had bilateral mastectomies about two years before my RNY. I had lat flaps, muscle bands brought from the back to the front for support, unfortunately a blood clot caused the left muscle to die and now I have just an implant on that side. Because of the difference between the two, I had to have a smaller implant on the right. Now that I've lost weight (there was fat along with the flap for contouring), the difference is readily apparent.

I'm at a point where I have to decide if I'm going to have a little revision done of the right/flap side to tighten it up and go with a smaller implant on the left, or if I'll put a larger implant on the right. I'm large-framed, so I can carry off the size C I have on the left without a problem, but it's still something I think about. I don't think you can go wrong with staying on the modest side of size. You want natural, not obvious. I had my implants done with an eye to getting my RNY, and am happy that I didn't go any larger. Best of luck to you.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
