Tomorrow is my day Surgery at 10:00 a.m.

Recommended Posts

I am excited and nervous and just want to share with everyone. My surgery is in San Antonio Texas tomorrow morning. I have to be at the hospital at 7:00 so there will probably be some down time, but its about to happen. Please everyone put in a prayer for me! I am not a youngster so I really don't expect it to be easy. Just as long as I make it through it and lose some good weight I am happy.

Thanks ya'll for letting me yammer!

Prayers for you. I know you will not need them. I had my sleeve 2/9/16. At age 60 years young at the VA in PA. I'm eating puréed foods doing pretty good. Need to walk more and yes drink more looking forward hearing about how you are doing

So, I'm guess you don't want to hear what's on the menu at the Michelin Star restaurant downtown, right??? :) How's the fasting going?

You are SOOOO ready for this surgery, right? I know that feeling. No regret. No second thoughts. You just want to "get r don".

I'm turning on the "bum warmers" here on the Losers' Bench just for you!

Can't wait for you to join this crazy and nutsy gang here on BP!!! You'll fit right in! :)

Prayers going up for you!

Post as soon as you can, so we know to start mov'n over!!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
