HI!

Just went to seminar at Baylor in Dallas. REally liked Dr barnes who is with Dr Arnold and DR Kuhn. Did you decide on a Dr? After the seminar they had some patients there to answer questions and they spoke highly of both Dr Arnold and Dr Kuhn. Did you go to their seminar? What did you think about it?

Hi SCMARTIN...I went to their seminar about a year ago. At the time I was going have the bypass but changed my mind. I met with Dr. Arnold in July and he said he didn't do the lapband yet and recommended Dr. Kuhn. I have since met him and really like him. My surgery is scheduled for Nov. 8th!!! I'm so excited. Thanks for your reply to my post.

I had the surgery yesterday March 3. Obviously, I can't give you results at this point, but as to the surgery which I had at Park Central Surgical center, I was very happy with the professionalism of Dr. Kuhn. I feel he takes his responsibilities very seriously and is very much up to date on historical results. My personal feeling is that after yo-yo-ing up and down in weight programs, I've never been able to keep it down. Now, I am committed to changing my lifestyle, and coupled with the lap band, losing about 80 pounds. To be successful I think you need both plus exercise, which is part of my lifestyle plan change. Bottom line, Dr. Kuhn is professional, knowledgeable and very caring for his patients. Hope this helps!

Hey, Billb,

Did your health insurance pay for this, or did you have to come up with the money?

Do you mind if I ask...how much?

(I'm in the area, and I"m looking for a good doctor at an affordable price)

Check out Dr. David Kim in Colleyville. His cash price is $10,500 and includes all fills and adjustments for one year. The fills are done by his Physicians assistant who is also a registered dietitian. Bariatric Weight Loss LAP-BAND System Gastric Bypass Surgery Arlington Dallas Fort Worth (Ft. Worth) Texas (TX)

Yes I did. I also work for him. He is wonderful and so is our staff. He will be doing surgery at Forest Park Medical Center in Dallas when it opens and if you live over that way and prefer to have your fills done at Forest Park instead of driving to Colleyville then the price would decrease to $9950. That included 6 fills , 3 with fluoro and 3 without for 1 year. The $10,500 price includes unlimited fills and aadjustments at our office for one year.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair. Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end. That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
