How long was your first stall

Recommended Posts

I am currently 6 weeks out since my bypass and stalled at four weeks and haven't lost a pound in two weeks. Just curious when others first stalled and how long it latest. Any suggestions on how to get the scale moving again? This is beyond frustrating. Only 19 lbs down. Thanks!

I was 4 weeks post op and it lasted 2 weeks. I have had many since my longest being 28 days.

Just stick to the plan and it will start to move again. You are still losing inches and your body is simply adjusting.

I have learned there really is nothing to do but follow the plan.

Ugh 2 yrs so far. I am 3 years out lost 100 lbs the first year and unfortunately started with bad knees and they need surgery replacement they said but no one will do it because I'm only 37. It has been rough because I can do much so keeping wait off has been hard. I am started to get depressed. We all know what depression does. I've noticed stress and depression makes me gain without stress eating how I don't know. My goal was to get to 250 and work my way down to 200 it's been impossible. But I'm holding on to hope and faith that God will give me the strength to get there!

I stalled weeks 2 and 3 post-op. During week 4, I dropped six lbs. As djmohr said, just stick to the program - the stall will end and you'll start dropping weight again

I didn't really have the famous "3 week stall" but by three months out or so, I started getting my period again, and now I stall for 2-5 weeks every time I get my period. I just finally came out of a 5 week stall, thankfully.

It's going to be frustrating every time it happens, but it IS going to happen a lot. Despite my huge stalls every month, sometimes for most of the month, I've still lost almost 120 since the day of surgery 6.5 months ago. It all evens out in the end. Hang in there! :)

I don't know because I weigh infrequently. Initially, soon after surgery, I only weighed at my doctors appointments.

We all stall. None of us lose at a constant or steady rate and stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process.

Just follow your program. Make sure you are getting in all of your Protein and Vitamins, taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed, avoiding starches and added sugars, and exercising.

Embrace the Stall!

5 months out and I have had one week where I gained a very small amount (over the holidays, totally traceable). Other than that, I have lost a good amount every single week.

I do have a smaller loss the week before my period and a big loss after.

I only weigh myself once a week.

Forever.

It seemed like that anyways. My 3 week stall lasted 2 weeks. I had another at 5 months that lasted a month. Again, it felt like a year but it was a month. Just stay the course. Don't freak out. Use the time to practice patience and hone your good habits - getting all your Protein and Water in, exercising, getting appropriate sleep. Just don't give up.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
