A convenient healthy protein discovery

My son actually found these precooked chicken patties in the freezer section . I love my healthy salmon patties but it's great to have some variety.

They look great! I wonder if I could find them here in NY. I'm unfamiliar with the brand.

Thanks for the post!

Tyson also makes frozen pre cooked grilled chicken strips. They work out perfect for me because I can't quite eat a whole patty. They make for a super quick grab and go snack but can also be seasoned however you want and eaten with a side of veggies.

@@Cervidae, this is probably a product made by other companies, too. If you have Trader Joe's, it may well be under their private label. They have loads of frozen products and this is probably their type of thing. (I'm not a user of frozen food, therefore, unable to name names.)

These aren't chicken pattys, but you might want to look at Bruce Adele chicken apple sausage. Amazing flavor, not greasy /oily at all. Beyond good !! Also comes in 2 or 3 other flavors, try Traders joes, costco or grocery stores. They come precooked, so really easy to separate them into individual serving size, then just take them out of the freezer the night before and microwave for a minute or 2. Mmmmmmmmmmm

I agree, I have a few chicken and turkey sausages that are part of my regular rotation. I use a rough guideline...should have at least 10g of Protein per 100 calories (and usually it's way better than that) and very low to no carbs. Carbs in a meat product means alot of additives. I don't worry about the fat but if it is let's say 20g of Protein and about 130 calories and low carb the fat will be fine - like these chicken patties.

I bought the cooked chicken strips and for some reason no one in the house liked them. They became dog training treats. I wonder if we got a bad batch because they are popular. I do have capacity for one of these chicken patties or one of the salmon patties , can even add a bit of salad.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
