Am I ever going to wake up feeling good?

Recommended Posts

I'm 18 days post op and everyday I wake up feeling like crap. If it's not my stomach it's my head or my incisions.

Please tell me that soon I'm going to wake up and feel like I've made the right decision.

Are you able to meet your Water and Protein goals? If not, when you are able to you feel much better.

Not sure what your health was like nefore surgery, but people in better health to start feel better sooner.

I woke up from surgery feeling pretty good. Three days later, I was feeling pretty OK. At 2.5 weeks, I was exhausted, irritable, emotional, but never regretful.

For some reason, when I hit my three week mark, I hit an all time low and then suddenly, it all shifted. At three weeks and a day, I found my stride. Water, Protein, sleep... I never hit my numbers, but I was close enough to feel human again and I got the "groove" of managing my intake and my activity.

Hang in there. Soon enough you will wake up feeling awesome!

Yes, you will. If not we would be a big group of grumpy people. Hang in there!

Post-op from WLS wasn't bad for me, but everyone is different. Keep pushing on and listen to your body. Don't over do it if you feel you can't. You will hit a point where all of a sudden you start to feel better. Good luck!

Temporary state........I felt the same way initially. Now....unbelievable improvement.......

Up at 4:00am yesterday.

Worked a 14 hour day....walking a few miles on my job....hectic day....tech issues & staffing problems....fully engaged in troubleshooting and humping it the entire time.

Lifted weights on my lunch break.

Went to bed at 11:30pm.

Woke up at 4:00am today, voluntarily....on my only day off over a span of seven 13-14 hour workdays.

Felt ready to go into battle with ogres, orcs or dire wolves......ready to rock 'n roll shortly after stretching out my sore back.

No combat to be had, thusly, a proper Breakfast for the family was cooked.

Have a few projects to handle and then off to the gym for more weight training and 5 miles on the treadmill.

I'll get home and toss something on the grill for our dinner later on.

Today will be a glorious day off.....regardless the weather.....regardless of what comes up.

5 months ago.....pre-sleeve......I would have woken up and felt like one of the zombies from The Walking Dead.

Hang in there.....everything...and I mean EVERYTHING will get better. Sometimes we just have to get out of our own way.

I remember at around 5 weeks waking up and feeling surprised I finally felt human. You just had major surgery, these things take time.

It worked! Trying to get in my Water and Protein was a struggle but I managed to get near the amount I needed and today was the first day that I felt normal! Thanks to everyone for your advice and encouragement!

That's great news!

Just waking up should be welcomed with feeling good.

Not waking up would be the bummer!

I was feeling really tired and irritable after surgery and started getting weak and fuzzy feelings. I got blood tests done at my GP and realised I was low on Vitamin D. I started taking that as well as taking Multivitamins (centrum advanced or pregacare) as excellent amounts of Vitamins in these and within a few days I felt full of energy again. Also I started drinking more fluids as was not taking in enough Water. Feel great now! I'm now 5 weeks post op 30lbs down
