Recommended Posts

Hey guys, I got sleeved 2-22-16 and for the past 4 days it's been decent..been able to hold down liquids, to walk every time I need to, I lack a little bit of energy but It's still decent and besides the incision pain I was good until today... today I woke up with excruciating pain everywhere, completely exhausted, and anytime I take a sip of liquid I dry heave. help I am miserable.. and none of my medication is working... My doctor told me to not call him unless I was running a hundred and one fever or showing any of the symptoms that are listed on the paperwork I received which I am NOT.. i have no clue what's going on... Please help!

I am sorry to hear that you are in pain.

Please, please, please call your surgeon. Mine has 24-hour phone number. Please let them know what you are experiencing so they can advise you.

I agree, you really need to call your doctor! I just had my sleeve on friday and they told me if i had issues to contact them or go to the hospital where i had the surgery since the hospital near me is not equiped to address bariatric patients. you might just have the flue but treatment could be different for sleeve patient, please call and don't wait!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
