BlooEyez 13 Posted August 1, 2007 Since returning home from getting banded and being on liquids, my urine hasn't been a yellow, but more of an orange color. Is this due to the weight loss? Anyone know?
chimboree26 24 Posted August 1, 2007 I'm sorry Bloo. I'm not sure what could be causing this. Maybe it was s'thing (one of the meds) given to you in the hospital??? I would just call my doc and ask...just to be on the safe side.
BlooEyez 13 Posted August 1, 2007 Will do that ... thanks!
Jachut 487 Posted August 1, 2007 You probably need to drink more, if your urine is more concentrated and therefore a darker colour, you're getting a bit dehydrated.
Sybaritic01 0 Posted August 2, 2007 Same thing with me......DR said make sure you are drinking 1.5litres per day of water.......if you are.....it could also be Vitamins (that's what it was with me)
chimboree26 24 Posted August 2, 2007 I also agree w/the others about drinking more Water. I know that if I'm not drinking enough, my urine will be a bit darker yellow, but never orange. It's usually pretty light yellow to almost clear (talk about TMI). I've just never seen orange before. That's what made me think it was a med or s'thing. Let us know what the doc says. I'm curious. wendy645 1 Posted August 2, 2007 Did they put you on antibiotics? Some turn your pee orange. Let us know!
beachgirl 2 Posted August 2, 2007 make sure and drink enough, I didn't and ended up in the hospital with kidney stones for 9 days, 4 days first time and 5 days 2nd time in December. I finally passed them, one was 5 mm. and it was a doozey. They told me banded patients have them more because they tend to not want to drink as much.
rjonesii 0 Posted August 2, 2007 It will go away after you get your fluids up. Drink more
Jachut 487 Posted August 2, 2007 Oh - one more thing. For me, dark yellow urine was a sure sign I was pregnant, lol. Its the first thing I noticed all 3 times.
becky42 0 Posted August 2, 2007 I'm with you on the pregnancy thing. First thing I noticed every time was orange pee. Dr. also told me to be careful because pregnancy after weight loss is very common. I laughed, as all of my children are IVF.
Jobstud 0 Posted August 3, 2007 Did you have a barium swallow? I noted that the stuff I swallowed (besides being awful tasting) was orange. Maybe that attributed to a more orange tint. For the first couple of times right after surgery I noted a darker color but attributed it to not having enough Water and the medications as many here have already suggested. Let me tell you that since I have gotten into the habit of monitoring my fluids and making sure I get my 64 ounces each day, urine is no longer dark and bowel movements are more normal / regular.
