Boho 0 Posted February 27, 2016 Hi I just got my surgery February 24th. The gas has passed and I thought that would be the worst of my pain.. When I sip on Water I get these sort of stomach cramps or contractions? They are very uncomfortable and I want to know if this is normal.. I also feel shortness of breath sometimes. Also, I'm very confused on how often I should be sipping on water and how much when I do sip. Every time I sip I have to burp :/ Kind of regretting my decision to have this surgery. olgirl06 33 Posted February 27, 2016 For me the gas pains are the worst. My surgery was the 23rd and I'm still having problems with gas. The nurses gave me a bunch of medicine cups that are 2 tablespoons and told me that my stomach is no bigger than these cups. I was told to try and sip out of these cups every 15 min so I wouldn't get dehydrated.

NewMeLinZ 66 Posted February 27, 2016 Normal. The pain is your stomach freaking out from being cut. It will protest in anger with all food and drink for a few days after surgery. This will get better everyday and will go away. You should just sip Water all day and aim for 64oz. It may take you a while to get there, but as long as your peeing 800cc a day, you won't get dehydrated. No regrets! You will be so glad you did this down the road!!
