GregSteph 1 Posted February 26, 2016 I am 3 month post op and I can not eat chicken without it hurting so much I have to throw up. Also any Grilled meats. Pork other than grilled I can eat some but this no meat thing is horrible. Anyone else have this issue and what do you do?
JengaBee 38 Posted February 26, 2016 Yep. Same here. I take it has a sign I'm not ready for them yet. I've heard it can take a year or more. I've been told to try more moist, dark meat of the chicken. Same goes for other kinds of meat. Avoid anything not super tender and moist. jj7481 363 Posted February 26, 2016 First, make sure you are chewing the tougher thoroughly (at least 40x per bite). Second, take smaller bites. It's annoying because it takes longer, but it can keep you from stomach pains and/or vomiting.
Spiceyfrog 269 Posted March 14, 2016 It was nearly eight months before I could eat most meats. Hang in there!
4MRB4PHOTO 3,900 Posted March 14, 2016 Try cooking the chicken in a crock pot or make a small tinfoil tent with some Water or chicken broth and bake it in the oven to keep it moist.
den61john 23 Posted March 20, 2016 I'm almost 2 years out and chicken still bothers me sometimes. It's weird sometime I can eat it without any problems and sometimes I can't.
Sherry G 95 Posted March 24, 2016 I couldn't eat meats for almost a year. I can eat any meats or fish now. I had my surgery October, 2013 and am down 260 pounds and at goal.
