Still having restriction after fill removal

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Quick question, due to problems with being overfilled my doctor removed all my Fluid in June, but yet I am still having problems with food getting stuck and feeling restriction. Is this normal? I thought when you had all the fluid removed it was just like not having the band at all. I wonder why things would still be getting stuck and causing me to PB. I have also begun to have sharp pains on the left side of my stomach. Has anyone else experienced this?

Thanks,

Janet

Janet, I am sorry to hear about the problems you have been having. at the same time, I am relieved to see someone experiencing the same problems as I have. I was banded on 6-4-07 and have had problems with PBing since I went on soft foods (nothing major but experienced it a couple times before fill). My problems increased in early July after my first fill. I have a 4cc band that Dr filled 1.7 cc's. I couldn't swallow barium. He removed approx. .5 cc's and I still had pain in my throat when I swallowed the barium. He removed another .2cc's. I went home. the next day, I woke up and had a hard time swallowing Water. I was really swollen. The following day I went back and he removed another.6 cc's. I currently do not have any fill and I continue to feel restriction and have to be very careful to avoid PBing. The restriction appears to be confined to my esopagus, not my stomach. I am hungry most of the time. I am still able to eat, I just have to take it very slow.
