My husband left me three days before surgery which I had on February 12th and it was extremely hard and painful to cope being in the hospital with no husband on my side to support me!!! Would love any feedback from anyone especially if you gone through this painful experience....I'm battling Anxiety and Depression :(

I'm sorry you're going through this. What a jerk. I have a feeling that, in the end, you're better off without him.

I am so sorry. Sending hugs.

Now is the time to focus on your health and recovery.

Marshall all of your resources to focus on you and your recovery. Do you have family and friends close by? Do you have a therapist?

You aren't the only one to whom this has happened - there was a thread just a couple weeks ago about this same thing.

I can't imagine how abandoned you feel. I have to wonder just how supportive he would have been if he could do something like this. Do you have other family and friends around you?

The good news is, you are now free to focus on YOU and your recovery. You also don't have to worry about him eating pizza and double cheeseburgers in front of you during your liquid phases! But seriously, I do think meeting with some sort of councilor or therapist would be beneficial. It will help you deal with and process the split from your husband as well as food!

Stay strong! Your going to loss weight, look and feel amazing! Then your husband is going to be so jealous! He doesn't deserve you of he hurts you. I hope you have other family to help. See a counselor to conquer your depression. I had to see one. It works. Stay strong gorgeous!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
