Dr. Altamirano or Dr. Zarvalza?

Recommended Posts

I am trying to decide between these two surgeons. Have you had any experience with either one, good or bad?

Dr. Altamirano did my sleeve and he's magnificent. I've heard wonderful things about Dr. Zavalza as well. I know Dr. A does skype consults and I bet so does Dr. Z, I would schedule a skype consult with both of them and see who you connect with the most and go from there. I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Dr. Altamarino was my surgeon aswell! He is awesome, Professional medial work plus Great bedside manners.

He came to me After i was released because i had a light Fever (nothing serious) but he was there 20 Minuten After i contacted him on a Sunday evening. Had No Paid After surgery, just highly Renommend him!

I Travelled 10000 Miles to TJ and Dr. A and it was the best decision of my life!

Im booked with Dr A for a few weeks from now and I can't wait. I am a member of his support groups on Facebook where he is super active and he has always been available to answer questions I have in a super timely manner. I have heard absolutely nothing but wonderful things about him!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
