Hello, everyone I'm a gastric sleeve patient that's had a few complications with the sleeve and I'm now scheduled for a revision to the bypass on March 16th due to those complication... Anyway I'm required to do a 2 liquid diet and I'm concerned about my blood sugar dropping to low because I'll be working up until the day before my surgery and my job requires a lot of moving and lifting and sweating continuously for the first four or five hours not to mention I usually workout an hour a day. Any suggestions that could possibly help with managing my blood sugar and avoiding dehydration prior to surgery

Are you able to do clear Liquid Protein? I am on clear liquids two days as well and was told clear liquid Protein is acceptable. I ordered some from a bariatric site. Good luck.

Does anyone know if the chicken broth has to be fat free ? I bought regular wondering if I need to return it??

Depends on your surgeon. Mine didn't say anything about fat free, but he did want it to be low sodium or homemade. Either way, I can't imagine it's a deal breaker, but if you're concerned ask your doc.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
