Splenda and Fairlife milk.

Been going at it ever since.

Good stuff.

3 months

Nothing, I always take my coffee black.

No problems whatsoever! My body runs on coffee (lots of it) and that has not changed.

ETA: my hospital brought me hot Decaf the day after surgery and I had that with no problems either. I didn't bother with decaf once I went home though, I didn't really see the point. But I went right back to full test coffee when I was okayed for it.

I drank Decaf for the first three weeks and then started drinking 1 cup of caffeine coffee each day. After one cup, if I want more.... I'll go to decaf.

Good deal. I'm only 2 weeks out. I have an irrational fear of putting anything to hot in my sleeve lol. I'll probably try a sip of my hubbies and go from there. Thank y'all!

Back away from my coffee!!!!

I had a cup (a few sips) the night I got home from the hospital with 1/2 & 1/2. I make room for a cup a day on all of my lists: calorie, Protein, etc.

Afternoon, I switch to Earl Grey tea, simply because I love that too.

Don't be mess'n with my caffeine!!! The bodies of those who did have never been found... :)

Is it ok to put fat free creamer in coffee? I love coffee but I have been putting vanilla Protein shakes in my coffee but I'm craving the creamer

Talk to your Nut. about it.

Together, her and I adjusted my diet to allow me to have 1/2 & 1/2 in my morning coffee.

It's all about switching things around --give and take with your daily menu.

I've been using the sugar free liquid Coffeemate French Vanilla since the day I came home from surgery and my NUT has no problem with it. I've also used the sugar free Italian Creme and Hazelnut.

I waited about a month... maybe two? I drink 2-3 cups a day (plus sometimes a cup of Decaf in the evening). I use Torani sugar-free syrups and 2% Fairlife milk. Or if I'm out, I put in Splenda and vanilla soymilk. Or Splenda and half and half, if I'm at a diner or something.

About 6 weeks maybe a little longer. It is all a blur now.

At first I was making iced coffee drinks with cold brewed coffee and unflavored Protein.

I have a cup every morning with a few drops of stevia and 1TB 1/2 and 1/2.

I think about 6 weeks. I really shouldn't even be drinking it with my GERD, but I try to limit it.

I have to have some vices, don't I??

What store do y'all find the Torani syrups from?

I find Torani syrups either at World Market, Ralph's, and Von's. Or if you don't live by any of those store Amazon also sells them.

I get it at Walmart. They have limited flavors at my store, just vanilla, Hazelnut, and Caramel that are sugarfree.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
