3 weeks post op and stalled.

Recommended Posts

Do a search on the forums here for "3 week stall" and you'll see that not only has it happened to "anyone" it happens to just about everyone. It's so common that this question gets posted here every single day! Not kidding! Keep doing what you are supposed to be doing and stay off the scale for a couple of weeks if it is going to drive you crazy. And hang on, because you will stall again during weight loss, even when you are doing all the right things. ^_^

3 week stall is unavoidable for most. Just stick with it.

As @@Bufflehead said. The Week 3 Stall happens to almost every single person who has WLS. It is completely normal. Sometimes it happens at 2 weeks and sometimes it happens at 4 weeks, but we almost all go through some sort of stall around that time. And also, you will continue to have stalls throughout this process. It's a normal facet of all weight loss, not just those who have surgery. Your body will often put the brakes on and say "hey wait a second" and take a little time to catch up. During those times, it's nice to be able to take measurements, since you will often be losing inches even when you aren't losing pounds. So if the numbers on the scale are likely to drive you crazy, I HIGHLY recommend measuring your arms, chest, waist, hips, thighs, etc. once a month or so.

I am in the exact same situation, but ive read it's normal and unavoidable. You'll lose more. In the mean time, try staying off the scale for a week. I know it's tempting but no reason to drive yourself crazy over not losing

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
