Sleep eating on Ambien

Recommended Posts

OMg! I am starting to sleep eat on Ambien! I'm 6-7wks post-sleeve & really am hitting my exercise, Protein & just good clean eating all-day, but have started to sleep eat! The only time I've ever felt nauseous during this entire journey was after I was sleep eating a small handful of my child's Pirate's Booty. I don't remember anything until I get to the kitchen the next morning & see the snack out & then it's like watching a movie of something real quick in my mind & I remember "oh crap! That was ME?!"

Anyone had this experience? What do I do?? I'm seriously considering a lock on the pantry! Please do share any experience or solutions you've had with this problem.

I would talk to my doctor and be weaned off the Ambien...that's dangerous.

Either lock up the food, don't keep it in the house, or try to get off the ambien.

My dad does this regularly, (no ambien involved). We tied a little string with a bell at the bottom of the doorway to the bedroom, that way if he gets up when he's sleeping it jolts him awake. No joke! Lol! However, if you're up and about in your sleep, you might want to stop the ambien!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
