What can I do with...string cheese?

Recommended Posts

I just ran across a good suggestion on how to use string cheese in a snack.

Even though I am quite happy eating cheese plain, this looks pretty tasty.

What is your favorite way to eat cheese sticks or hard cheese?

By far: pepperjack, seriously sharp cheddar and brie. Yum! plain--all by themselves. Yum!

On special occasions I cut cheese sticks in halves, dip them in raw whipped eggs, roll them in a mix of grated parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning. I freeze them for about 45 minutes. Then drop them in hot oil for about a minute or two. Best no carb "breaded" cheese sticks ever. My kids love them.

I recently have discovered flavored mustard and it has completely changed how I eat cheese sticks.

Deli shaved meat, flavored mustard (horseradish or Sriracha are my favorite), and cheese all rolled up is yummy and carb free.

I love cheese as-is. Sharp cheddars and Vermont White Cheddar are my favorites.

I love eating cheese as is, I think I might have been a mouse in my prior life, however I do enjoy eating cheese wrapped in a piece of deli sliced turkey. Perfect Protein packed snack

I love brie with grapes and red wine :)

Sharp cheddar with deli roast beef and a bit of horseradish sauce.

Gouda and apple slices.

Laughing Cow wedges on an English muffin.

All fantastic Snacks. I eat string cheese on its own. Smoked flavor is my favorite.

I used to cut tiny squares of Kerry-gold Dubliner Irish Cheddar and put a single piece of pickled jalapeno on top of each one.

Really looking forward to doing that again. If I have string cheese, I just play with it like a child and pull away teeny tiny little strings to see how thin I can make them! lol =)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
