lap band associated with headaches?

Recommended Posts

hello I've had my lap band since 2012. I never had any major complications but lately I've been noticing when I eat I'm getting strange feelings like headaches. the other day I felt as if I was going to fall over because the head pain was so bad and my eyes felt crossed for a minute. I thought it was because I hadn't eaten for hours and it was after my first bite of food when I stood up to sit at another table that I felt the dizzyness. In general something doesn't feel right when I eat lately and it never used to happen. I'm getting worried.

All things are possible, but that's one I've never heard. Are you perhaps for an annual physical? I'd check in with my regular doctor and, because you're associating it with eating, with my surgeon.

(Are you well hydrated?)

I haven't been in for a check up in a while or had blood work done in a long time so I am definitely over due for that. I drink Water everyday but probably not enough

@@ltoni90, I was only suggesting a couple of things for you to consider. It's time to call your doctor. This website has reat merits, but it does not provide medical advice or medical care.

I just noticed that you mentioned dizziness in addition to headaches. Because of something I'm experiencing (concussion), let your regular doctor know if you've had a head bang recently, either in a fall or any other way. It's nothing to get upset about, but also nothing to ignore.

I was going to say the same thing about being hydrated because Dehydrated is really bad for Banders & I have gotten headaches v& dizziness from being Dehydrated, always try to have Water near by even if it's just to be able to take a little sip .

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
