Marchies In August

Thanks everyone for your replies. I was beginning to think I was the only one with this problem. I also was worried that maybe I had stretched out my pouch. I so glad we have a place to express our feeling. It helps to be validated.

Finally got back into my exercise routine and back to tracking my food on fitday...It had been a few weeks! Biked 8 miles last night and loved it.

Walked 1.5 on the treadmill this a.m. and felt really good about myself. It's just getting my lazy ass up out of bed that is the hard part, like I have to psych myself into it.

Have been having a terrible stabbing pain on right lower side between belly button and hip bone. Ruled out my appendix, ruled out gas, so I had an ultrasound today they are thinking maybe ovary. (did you know they put the thing up your woo-hoo to see the ovaries?!?%#*&) Looked like a really cool vibrator!

Perhaps I'm talking out of turn. Anyway, the pain is still there when I walk should find out something soon.

Have a good day everyone!

Sorry though that you are not 100%. Yuck-O. Hopefully soon it will go away.

Glad to hear you're working out again and tracking on fitday. It's so hard to get out of the habit. Good You!!!!

Hey My Marchie Friends!

Just wanted to say hello......."Hello!"

I do believe the my band is possessed, I have decide to call it Smeagmie----I don't know why--it just makes me laugh when I say the name. Anywho, Smeagmie was being an ahole for three days--every time I would eat---it decided that it was not happening! Then last night and tonight no problems. To tell you the truth I thought up until last night that I was going to have to go to the doctor for unfill because Smeagmie thinks that I needed to be bulimic! But for now, I suppose, Smeagmie is going to behave. I'll keep y'all updated.

Later Skaters,

Denise and Smeagmie:heh:

Denise,

God love ya. You're a nut job.

My band can no longer be called Phyllis, because she's got a fill. Now she's Lil' Terr.

Let me explain. I work in a cafeteria and there's a woman I work with who is sassy and calls people out all the time. Her name is Terrie. If on Monday you come through the lunch line and say, "Oh, just a little of that, I'm watching my diet."

Then on Tuesday you come through and grab a piece of pie, she will in fact say, "what, you done watching it? Yestereday you said you were on a diet. That was quick. You got to goal? Good for you. No, go on. Take the pie. I don't want to stop you." Mind you I can do a good impersonation of her too. Which get's her rolling!

One time she was baking Cookies and I was drooling. I went to get one. I said, "oh those smell so good."

She said, "You ate these before. You know what they taste like, go on get out of here, you don't need to eat one now."

So, I like to think of my band as the voice of Terrie telling me to go on and get away from the shit food. I told her I named my band after her and she laughed. When I do her to her..you know impersonate her, she says it sounds so mean coming from my mouth. She's just trying to be helpful! LOL

Hey nikki, yes I tried this for a few days. Thought it would calm down my band. But I'm still super tight in the am can't even drink coffee without sipping. I was eating egg beaters and 1/2 slice of whole wheat toast for bkfst, but not anymore after this last fill. I usually have to watch it during lunch also. I take it slow, chew a lot and about 5 minutes after I eat I get the chest tightness. I'm only getting in around 3/4 of food in all.

I was so excited last night, 3 oz. of salmon & 2 tbsp of hummus with 5 wheat thins for dinner! And no chest pain. Took me 30 minutes to eat.

Juli, I guess I usually don't reference that area of my body often, so woo-hoo was the best i could do without sounding crude.

Have a great weekend everybody!

You guys are great--what a group! (And where are all those other Marchies???)

I started solids today after my fill on Wednesday and guess what? I ACTUALLY FELT SOME RESTRICTION!!! Wooohoooo! I had a piece of homemade wheat bread toasted for Breakfast and only could finish 1/2 of it. Then I ate a peach for lunch and I ate it all but could feel the tightness starting. I'm just so excited to finally have restriction. Maybe this is it, or maybe I'm finally getting close! Hope I can learn how to use my band now without too many PB's (not that I don't want to join your group, gals). Thanks for the support and have a great and healthy weekend everyone!

Hey Ladies, Just wanted to drop a quick line.

Been away again for my last week of holidays and I am so sad that summer is coming to an end.

Having a fun time getting use to this finacky? band. Tight in the AM then usually loosens up a bit as the day goes by. I found if I have a hot drink right before I eat my Meal thing will go down a bit better. What small portions though...and since its just the 2 of us it hardly seems worth it to cook. So we do eat out more than we should and then I end up with a fridge full of leftovers.

I can really relate with the having more time to do other things besides eating. I painted a bedroom this week while away. At this rate I should have my whole house remodeled in about 6 months. Already did the den last month. But unfortunately I will have to go back to work soon and use my energy there. How Boring.

Have a great weekend, everybody.

Bev

Momlambert, it took 7 fills to get restriction!?? We were banded about the same time. Me, the 7th. I felt a little after the 3rd, for a short time, more after the 4th. But of course you can tell by looking at my ticker i haven't lost since surgery. Only 16 lbs, from the actual surgery date. The other was pre-op. I just eat too much. I was so hoping to get help with Portion Control. My biggest problem. Hope this next fill gets me closer to the "sweet spot." Very frustrated. Hope it is working better for you now too.

Catching up on all the comedy. You guys are LOL funny! Was away for DH's brother's wedding. I did finally find a dress. People I hadn't seen in a while had to do a double take - along with the weight loss, I had flat ironed my usually curly hair and tanned, so looked a little different. No one was really asking how I did it, which I was grateful for. I was cake server - but avoided sampling any - the thought of eating any kind of made me feel sick. I did have a "stuck" incident at the reception - on some beef - took way too big of a bite so spent some time in the bathroom spitting and sliming. I managed to lose two more lbs this week even with all the celebrating! Seems the old plateau is finally breaking.

Nikki, I did go back on liquids for about 3 days when I felt I was eating too much. My theory was that it might shrink my pouch - if it were possibly stretched. It really helped and I'm satisfied on less again.

Hazel, Thanks for sharing your pics. You are doing wonderful!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
