befitnotskinny 5 Posted February 22, 2016 So I was waiting days and weeks for my insurance company to approve me, which now they didn't. I've been denied, so now I have to go through the ringer again. If I get denied the second time, I have to wait another 3 months to even get a date. I'm just so frustrated. Any help? Thanks, Mary
Stacy Jean Champagne 10 Posted February 22, 2016 Wow that's not good at all, I'm so sorry to hear this. Ask for a hearing at your insurance company. That's what I would do. Good luck and keep in touch.
jj7481 363 Posted February 22, 2016 What reason did your insurance co give for the denial? Talk with your surgical team, in particular the person in charge of insurance and billing. Work with them on filing an appeal.

As in they had to track 6 mos of weight loss, or just seeing what weight you were at for BMI calculation?

jj7481 363 Posted February 22, 2016 Find out specifics then file an appeal from there. Many insurance companies have specific requirements before they will make an approval. Some require x number of mos of dieting, others an exercise routine, etc. Call your insurance company direct to find out exactly why, then find out what is required by them for approval.
