tburns82 2 Posted February 22, 2016 I can't believe I start my two week liver diet this Friday (2/26)! 2 Protein Shakes 2 Protein Snacks and a lean meat and veg for the first week and the second week is 5 shakes a day! Does anyone have any pointers on how to make it through it? Thanks
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted February 22, 2016 Repeat as often as necessary: I CAN DO ANYTHING FOR TWO WEEKS. Two weeks out of a lifetime? You can do it. I've never heard if called a "liver diet," but you can do it.
2goldengirl 2,076 Posted February 22, 2016 Once you really cut back on the carbs, you are MUCH less hungry than before. I'm easing in to my final two weeks but cutting down on both carbs and calories gradually. I have a few social events between now and my surgery, and I've already formulated a plan for those (focus on Protein and veggies). I'm also counting on those days to boost my total calories, so my body isn't used to the same thing every day.
lisacaron 5,075 Posted February 22, 2016 My advice is to make sure you are always having something. Don't give hunger a chance to make you miserable. Every hour or 2 have Water, or shake, or Jello or what ever your Dr. advised for your diet. Space the items out so you are always able to have something to ingest. If you focus on doing that you won't allow hunger to get in the middle and you will be on task with your diet and you will make it through. Yes there will be times where it will get to you...my worst time was at night, but if you can have something indulgent at night do that. Something like pudding or coffee with sugar free/fat free flavored Creamer something to sooth the hunger beast you will do great!
