So I'm two days out and my nutritionist advised I could ear dannon light and fit yogurts in any flavor. While eating the coconut and pineapple I had a small piece of pineapple, more like a shred, go down. Painful but the pain subsided. Could I have damaged the sleeve?

Hopefully she meant yogurt without bits in it. Since it caused you discomfort, you could dilute it with milk and strain it.

Maybe she didn't realize it had a little pineapple in it. Feeling better now. I just have a great imagination of a tiny piece of pineapple clinging to a staple and causing an issue.

They told us just no large chunky yogurts, tiny pieces were ok.

This wasn't a big chunk. But it felt like sponge bobs house was in me.

You are ok, but it does seem early for chunky food. My world view is to think about today...and tomorrow..not about the past (unless you learn from it!) My politics may not be uber conservative, but when it comes to health - be careful! I know you are fine but go slow...

I found that sticking to items that were smooth (no chunks) made me mentally feel safer that I wouldn't cause any problems.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
