Tdot77guy 13 Posted February 20, 2016 I am scheduled for a mini gastric bypass on March 12 2016 in Mexico. I am 6'2 330 and my mind is constantly telling me that I don't need this surgery and I can handle this own my own. Maybe if I could continue dieting. I am a single dad trying to do this for my 8 year old daughter. I know I need to this. Appreciate your insights and anything else you have to offer. bunyip 27 Posted February 20, 2016 Ask yourself how many times you've tried to do it "on your own", how many times you've lost weight, and how many times you've regained that weight plus more. That's how I got rid of those nagging doubts.
jj7481 363 Posted February 20, 2016 My deciding factor was also my daughter. Like @@bunyip listed you need to see how many times you've dieted then regained. Many here have similar stories and got tired of the "yo-yo" diet phase. I know I did and I feel great about my decision.

Dub 9,922 Posted February 20, 2016 I lost a heap of weight back in 2011 doing low carb and exercise......gained it all back after surgery recovery and lazy living. Always planned on getting it off again.....saved all the clothes from the lower weight, too. Back injury and other stuff last Spring/Summer made the exercise impossible and I had to get the weight off......enter the decision for wls. I don't regret having my sleeve surgery for a single second and would do it all over again in without a second thought.

Tdot77guy 13 Posted February 24, 2016 My two week pre op diet starts in 2 days. I know I should not be admitting this but I have been eating some of the foods that got me to my current condition. But I am not enjoying them. I wish I did not have to do this surgery. But I know if I want to be around for my kid then I have no other viable option.
