2 year anniversary

Recommended Posts

:clap2:July 27th was my 2 year anniversary and I could not be happier.

It has been the best decision for me and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I lost 88 pounds my first year and have been up and down about 4 lbs. this second year. I do still do my walking BUT have found myself getting in bad habits such as ice cresam in evenings and some chips and dip.

I do have to watch the old habits.

I do feel SSOOOO much better and have a little more energy.

I had my surgery at 56 YO, so it is a little harder than a younger

person but still good.

I am looking at TT in Sept. and have been to 2 DR's for consults.

I started at 297.5 and now at 213 lbs. At my age I feel this is where I will probably be but 180 would be nice.:clap2: DR said I would be a candidate to have it done with success. Just the belly keeps me in a size bigger I feel.

Thanks for listening as I usually am just a reader here and not a writer but did want to share my success.

Hi! Congrats on your two year anniversary. I hope I am as successful as you have been and feel the same way as you after my surgery. My band date is a little of a month away and I have started having some doubts but it is too late to turn back now. I want to feel better and look better.

Thank you for sharing your success with us.

Have a good one!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
