MIMISAN 404 Posted February 18, 2016 This sounds weird to me but help me out. I am on day 3 of my pre-op diet. I get 1 shake for Breakfast, 1 shake for lunch and for dinner I get 4 oz Protein and 1-2 cups veggies. On day 2 and day 3 of my diet even though I am really hungry at lunch time, but the time I drink my shake I feel bloated for about the next 3 hours? I really hate this feeling. Do to many shakes bloat you? Is it the sweetener ?
reinventingmyself 47 Posted February 18, 2016 Yes, I am on the all liquid diet for 7 days. On day 3 as well and they bloated me up big time. I try to stick with lactose free. But I bought a variety and drink certain ones at home since I get that feeling. When is your surgery? JamieLogical 8,710 Posted February 18, 2016 I definitely had issues with certain brands of shakes and Protein powders. If you are allowed to switch brands, ask your nutritionist for some guidelines and then find other shakes that fit within those. I ended up using EAS AdvantEGDE Carb Control ready to drink shakes (got them at target and walmart) and adding half a scoop of unflavored whey isolate to them. That worked best for me, but everyone is different.
