What "food" are you eating? If you are eating foods that are high in Protein, there shouldn't be a conflict.

I had my sleeve on Feb 8th so I am 10 days post op and I am struggling to get all my fluids and Protein in! I moved to mushy foods, and if I eat food I don't get enough Protein, but if I do 2 shakes to get my protein and Fluid, I am not hungry for food. Ugh. Is anyone else have trouble with this?

I'm 7 days out and struggling with getting enough fluids. It's been so hard drinking Protein Shakes, my stomach had been really uneasy. How much liquids were you getting during phase 1?

I had surgery the same day 2/8. I have 4 oz skim milk with Inspire Protein in the morning, then move to Water or Crystal light. lunch I do Unjury chicken Soup and then water again. I have an afternoon Jello and popsicles 2. Then I do Inspire protein in 4 oz of skim milk again. That completes my 60 Gmail of protein. Then I just keep drinking until I finish the 64 iz. I range from 58 to 64. Sip sip sip. I sip even when I am not thirsty. I can't wait to try an egg!

I did not have any problem getting my fluids in phase 1, because everything you consume is considered Fluid.

I had no problem during full fluids either. It's just since I have moved onto mushy foods that I feel like I am not getting enough. I may move back to full fluids just to make sure, or have 2 Protein Shakes with 1 small meal.

I'm 4 weeks post op. I use the lose it app to track my Protein that helps. Premier Protein shakes are 30gm protein mix with cheesecake sf pudding mix. Yum. Pureprotein unflavored made by nestle with low sugar oatmeal and fair life milk very good and high protein. Just do the best you can and remember shakes yogurt Popsicles ect are all liquids and count as such.

Can you eat tuna or chicken salad? They are both high in Protein or try adding Protein Powder to your Soups. I actually put a 30 G Protein Shake in my Decaf coffee in the morning with a tablespoon of sugar free Syrup, yummm

Ok I had my surgery 2/5 and I have been eating Soups, for about a week. But I do have a hard time getting my Water in, maybe 16 ounce a day. I do get hungry and want food. I just Chew, chew chew. I have had no problems, pain or anything at all. But I'm scared that I'm not doing something right.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
