nlo127@live.com 22 Posted February 18, 2016 I had my sleeve on Feb 8th so I am 10 days post op and I am struggling to get all my fluids and Protein in! I moved to mushy foods, and if I eat food I don't get enough protein, but if I do 2 shakes to get my protein and Fluid, I am not hungry for food. Ugh. Is anyone else have trouble with this? JamieLogical 8,710 Posted February 18, 2016 What "food" are you eating? If you are eating foods that are high in Protein, there shouldn't be a conflict.
nlo127@live.com 22 Posted February 19, 2016 I am on soft foods right now, so cream of wheat, refried Beans, drinkable yogurt, some Soup. I can't have meat yet, so it's really hard to find mushy food with a lot of Protein.

Is anyone else have trouble with this?I'm 7 days out and struggling with getting enough fluids. It's been so hard drinking Protein Shakes, my stomach had been really uneasy. How much liquids were you getting during phase 1? Sent from my SM-N920V using BariatricPal
New day ahead 40 Posted February 19, 2016 I had surgery the same day 2/8. I have 4 oz skim milk with Inspire Protein in the morning, then move to Water or Crystal light. lunch I do Unjury chicken Soup and then water again. I have an afternoon Jello and popsicles 2. Then I do Inspire protein in 4 oz of skim milk again. That completes my 60 Gmail of protein. Then I just keep drinking until I finish the 64 iz. I range from 58 to 64. Sip sip sip. I sip even when I am not thirsty. I can't wait to try an egg!
nlo127@live.com 22 Posted February 19, 2016 I did not have any problem getting my fluids in phase 1, because everything you consume is considered Fluid. I had no problem during full fluids either. It's just since I have moved onto mushy foods that I feel like I am not getting enough. I may move back to full fluids just to make sure, or have 2 Protein Shakes with 1 small meal. Can you eat tuna or chicken salad? They are both high in Protein or try adding Protein Powder to your Soups. I actually put a 30 G Protein Shake in my Decaf coffee in the morning with a tablespoon of sugar free Syrup, yummm
cindikevin2 44 Posted February 19, 2016 Canned chicken and tuna are great and start around 2 weeks post op I think. And don't be so ridged if your a bit under or over its not the end of the world they are guidelines not exacts.

rockinrobin925 1 Posted February 19, 2016 Ok I had my surgery 2/5 and I have been eating Soups, for about a week. But I do have a hard time getting my Water in, maybe 16 ounce a day. I do get hungry and want food. I just Chew, chew chew. I have had no problems, pain or anything at all. But I'm scared that I'm not doing something right.
