Reason 100million why I need this!

Recommended Posts

I am having my surgery on March 28th , and am so scared of all the unknown of failing yet again. But I know I need this for my health and happiness.

Today I got another reason, a friend of mine invited my kids to a play date with some of her other friends n their kids and the first think I thought about was how big I am and what they will think of me. I have never been a person to care what others think of me but in the last two years I have put on so much weight, I don't want to see anyone.

I guess am just feeling down and wish I had done this a long time ago, maybe today I wouldn't be feel so bad about myself....

I remember growing up with a mother who tipped the scales at well over 300lbs.

and ya know what?

I NEVER, EVER--NOT ONCE-NEVER wanted her not to come to one of my school functions. When we had concert or an assembly and I looked up and saw my mom in the crowd, my heart would sing with happiness. She was MOM. --and she came to school just for ME!!!!

Chin up, my friend. Are you going to the play date, just to meet new people or are you going to stay involved in your children's' lives, and maybe meet their parents who are there for the same reason?? Give other parents the benefit of the doubt.

Go and have fun!!! You got this!!!! :)

@@Valentina thank you so much, you are so right my kids happiness come before anything else. And now that I am finally getting my life back on track I can find some self happiness too.

Watch, really watch your children's faces whenever they look at you whenever you're "out and about". You'll know what I mean.

Let us know how the play date goes. Yes, I'm nosy, but that's because I care :)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
