My husband didn't need to take any time off. My kids were 4, 7 & 8 when I had my surgery and I was able to tend to their basic needs just fine. I even brought them all to the dentist at 2 days post-op. I did spend a lot of time relaxing and hanging out but I wasn't an invalid.

Just don't overdo it. You'll be fine. :)
