What is this like?

For me, she asked me to tell her about myself. She wanted to know what methods I had tried to lose weight before and what I eat throughout the course of a normal day. Asked what my plans were for making sure I was successful after surgery. Asked if I had a support system. Asked what things might trip me up after surgery. Then I had to take a 300 +/- question true or false personality test.

I had mine a week ago. It started with a bunch of questionnaires and she rated them and said I didn't have any concerning answers or markers. Then she asked about my family health history and mine. She asked about my relationship with my husband and children. We talked about my goals and my plans. I was so nervous and it was really very easy.

I just talked to mine. We talked about my previous attempts at weight loss, my daily activities, if I exercised. She then asked if I had support from family in regards to weight loss etc. I brought the letter I had written to the insurance company in which I outlined my history with my band and the problems I had developed and she asked questions to make sure I knew what my life would be like with the sleeve. I did not have to take any tests.

Well I went thru it. It was very simple. She asked about my family history and eating habbits and that was it! Glad that is over with. Next is the visit to my nut and then submit everything to my insurance. I contacted my insurance already and tun around time is 24 hrs for approvals. Very excited!!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
