Recommended Posts

Could you please share what your favorite, no sugar, high Protein greek yogurt is? There are so many kinds that I am not sure what one(s) to chose.

Not sure it's "the best" (haven't tried them all). But I love the Dannon Oikos Greek yogurt -- vanilla was my fave (still is). 120 calories, 12 grams of Protein.

I eat the Walmart brand, great value, light Greek yogurt. The banana cream is really good and has 90 calories, 0 fat, 9 carbs, 7 sugar, and 12 Protein. I eat one just about every day.

I liked the flavor and texture of the chobani simply 100's until I realized my body doesn't respond well to stevia. But if you don't have issues with stevia, give them a try.

If you have a krogers nearby, they have a brand called carbmaster. It is a high Protein low carb yogurt and taste really good.

At our house we use Friendly Farms Plain Greek Yogurt from Aldi's. It has 130 calories and 23 grams of Protein per cup. I add to it what I want. It mixes well with ricotta, vanilla, and sweetener to get the taste and texture of ice cream.

Dannon Light & Fit is the only Greek yogurt I can tolerate. It doesn't taste as "Greek" to me as some of the others. I like the Raspberry and the Key Lime Pie flavors best.

Chobani is my absolute favorite. It's a staple for me now, and I'm hoping I tolerate it well after surgery. It has no artificial things in it which makes it even better. Plain with a tiny bit of honey drizzled over it, plus I add fruit if I have it. The 100 cal ones are good too.

My NUT recommends the Oikos Triple Zero (in the black container). They are good, though I also buy the Dannon Light and Fit Cherry!! MMMMm

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
