Has anyone had success drinking these?? If so, which color and how far along where you in post

I haven't drunk these in years. Aren't they full of caffeine? I weaned myself off of caffeine pre-op.

This is something I would definitely recommend you discuss with your NUT.

Nasty stuff. Nothing but chemicals and high caffeine and sugar. They could hurt you due to the high acid content (your stomach will be much more sensitive and you do not want ulcers in a sleeve!) You really shouldn't try to start drinking them again if you can help it.

coffee or tea would be waaaaaay better if you need a caffeine fix.

If I NEED an energy drink I do monster rehab, or a rockstar lemonade. Neither of those drinks have carbonation or sugar and are very low calorie. Be careful though because they will dehydrate you and you'll be on the toilet more than a few times. Lol. Just know that however many ounces of caffeine you drink of you'll need to drink double the amount of ounces in hydrating fluids. For example: if you drink 12oz of an energy drink you'll have to drink 24 extra ounces ABOVE your liquid goal for the day. At least that's what my nutritionist has said, and what I've read here from other posters. Also I'm 7 weeks out. I've done it once, and never did it again bc of the bathroom and dehydration...

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
