VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted February 15, 2016 Here's a fascinating, persuasive article on how to build new habits by starting with small steps. It's an excellent take on this tough issue! http://www.fastcompany.com/3056613/how-to-be-a-success-at-everything/how-i-became-a-morning-person-read-more-books-and-learned-?utm_content=buffer3c1e0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer
CowgirlJane 14,260 Posted February 15, 2016 I thought it was a great article and I think I will try it in my goal of learning basic Spanish. I started duolingo but quit after a few days. However that is NOT how I changed food habits. Being sleeved was like a huge reset button and I had to rebuild from the liquid phase on up.
mngreeneyes 674 Posted February 15, 2016 Very good article. I have downloaded duolingo and started learning Spanish. Let's see how long I can keep it up. Need to think about what other habits I might want to work on! Thanks for the post! pam

Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted February 16, 2016 Great article. I did a lot of this pre-op when I was preparing for surgery. I focused on things like increasing Water consumption, exercise, and weaning myself off of carbonation and caffeine.
VSGAnn2014 12,992 Posted February 16, 2016 I also did the baby steps thing pre-op re eating habits (eating slower, chewing more, drinking Water, cutting down on caffeine, etc.) and it was so effective. Still do those things right today. Also used the baby steps approach re ramping up my walking. Literally, "baby steps" will turn you into a daily walker! And I'm now taking morning French lessons with duolingo. Who knew that would be possible.
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted February 16, 2016 Adults learn best when we break things down into small chunks. 12-15 minute chunks of time over a long period can really add up.
