Any April/May 2016 sleevers?

Recommended Posts

I'm scheduled for April 25. It's taken over a year to get here and suddenly it's feeling pretty real.

April 14th Birmingham Al! Excited. Nervous. And a little scared. Such a drastic and non reversible procedure. But so very tired of being overweight and in pain daily with my back and other joints. I know it is the right thing for me. But reading some post on Facebook page about the first month and people putting things like "starting to doubt my decision" because of nausea and not being able to keep anything down and then those that say "down 5 lbs in a month" make me doubt my decision but then I read others that are so very positive and I realized that everyone is going to be different and that I have to have my own journey and it has to be for me.

Hi everyone. I am scheduled for 04-26-16. I start my liquid pre-op diet on 04-12-16. Not necessary looking forward to the pre-op diet, but I am excited about my surgery.

My surgery date is on April 11th. I am not on the 2 week liquid diet and it is SUPER hard. The Protein Shakes are really grossing me out so I am having a hard time getting my Protein in. Any suggestions?

I'm new to this forum and a bit nervous. I'm set for surgery the 29th of April I've done my cardiac clearance sleep study and all I need is my labs and physician clearance. This will a surgery to remove my lap band and he will be doing the sleeve. I got the band in 2011 and lost 100 lbs but after having a baby, it's just not working anymore. Good luck to everykne

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
