Sometimes my stomach feels a little sore even hours after I eat. Is this normal? Any idea what causes it?

Your stomach? Like your port area? Sore to the touch or sore inside? What were you eating? How much?

Sorry your having problems, but we might be better able to share our own experience if we have a few more specifics. Hope you're feeling better now.

It's just a little sore-not bad. It is inside and definitely the stomach, not the port. It does not seem to matter what I eat but is more likely to happen after a PB. Could it just be eating too much or insufficient chewing? Does a PB make the stomach sore sometimes?

Hi Deb,

Did you recently get a new fill? Like Marie asks are you PBing alot?

I had a problem with my stomach about 2 weeks ago I pb'd twice, once each day Thursday & Friday and by the following next week any time I ate I felt a pain in my lower stomach so By That Friday I went in they did an upper GI thank God it came out ok but the Dr thought when I pb'd I irritated the stoma and I was put on Nexium for 3 weeks and a slight unfill. Just thought I would share what happened to me since it sounds familier. I was at 1.3cc's then with the unfill down to .8cc's as of yesterday feeling alot better I am at 1.1cc's so far the Nexium helped me.

Hope you get better ;)

hi, Deb.

your still sore, it takes a while, weeks to get familar, with your band , and how much is to much, 2oz. could be , or 4oz. could be too. and if you get pain or discomfort on you first bit... wait a while... and eat slow , slow, slow, is a life change... we've made and is going to take time to sink in our little tummy's that ,it just can't eat like that anymore... is true , when the bandgirls , say, that sometimes ,in the morning ,is hard to eat anything, is just some days , you have to feel your way around it for a while. and to be on the save side, 1oz or 2oz's mite just do until your next meal...chew, chew, chew that is a big part of keeping it down and it's going to go down smoother. hope you get better... been their,

had rough times, and learned the hard way to becareful,.. when i first started,.. but, thanks to these lady's and their comforting words of experience.. i made it thur, some really rough times.. feel better... your just a baby at this,,, take care....: )

Thanks everybody. I do not PB a lot thankfully. I will be more careful about chewing & speed. I will ask the doctor about this if it continues- I have an appointment shortly.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
