befitnotskinny 5 Posted February 13, 2016 So my insurance just got sent and I'm waiting for an approval for gastric bypass, and for a set date, but the longer I wait the more and more I can feel myself drifting away from my 1400 calorie diet that my dietician put me on since November 23rd of 2015. I go to the gym about 3 to 4 times a week and I'm always very conscious about what I eat but it's like a tick, I can't control it. I've already lost around 20 to 23 in about 3ish months, depending on my period. Did anyone else have this problem??
Cervidae 2,389 Posted February 13, 2016 I was fortunately approved pretty quickly, but I think I absolutely would have had this problem if I had waited longer than my 7-month interval between joining the program and having surgery. Stay the course! Look at how your body is changing for the better, look at your own or others' progress pictures, plan and track you food, whatever it takes. Remind yourself why you're doing this, and why it will be SO worth it in the end. You've got this! Feel free to friend/message me anytime if you want someone to talk to. LisaMergs 2,854 Posted February 13, 2016 Oh! It's so hard! I found myself after I got approval doing a good funeral. My insurance company approved me Lickety split! I'm talking days. Wait about 2-3 days after the office submitted- and then call your ins company. Just call and follow up that they received all of the documentation. You may be surprised to find it already approved. Unfortunately they notify the docs office via US Mail. That takes the longest time! Lol. If you were- call the docs insurance coordinator let her know what you found out and have her call to verify. They should then be able to get you scheduled right away. Then go have your own food funeral before your preop diet! That's what I did!! Good luck! Just as an FYI- I began this all the second week of December- got approved by first week of Feb and am having surgery March 2!!!
Dub 9,922 Posted February 13, 2016 I found that it was hard to stick with the initial low calorie diet my dietician put me on at the beginning stages of my bariatric process. I switched over to a low carb diet and maintained, for the most part, the low calorie aspects, too. It worked wonders. Proteins and fats keep hunger at bay. Was able to lose 55 lbs prior to surgery and it wasn't so difficult. I wish you the best.....you are in the most difficult portion now.......you'll kick azz.
