Was sleeved on 2/5/16 and weight in at 330lb. Today im 6 days in and weight in at 313.8lb. Ive lost a total of 16.2 lbs. Sweet feeling. I was a banster from 2011. I did loose close to 80lbs. But gained everything back from my pregnancy. It did work for me but then i was just having a hard time with gas and bloating plus always going to get tighten up. So i decided to go with the sleeve. I needed help keeping my weight down. Having pcos was another factor against my weight lost journey. I had lost hope for a while. But now im feeling hopleful. I want a better healthier me.. not just for myself but my for my son.

How are you feeling at 6 days out? The worst is probably over and you should be experiencing noticeable improvement daily at this point. Hope you are doing well with your Protein, sipping, and walking!

Hi everyone, I'm 9 days out since my sleeve surgery. I feel pretty good other than my main incision is very sore. I've been icing it which helps but wondering if that's normal. I'm also eating pretty good. I'm puréeing my food but tried tuna and imitation crab which I chewed very well. It stayed down and was fine. Anyone in the second week eat semi solids?

Thanks Ed

My husband and I stayed on liquids and Soup Ed, a little longer than you. He especially sipped a lot of broth, and even 2 1/2 years later loves his broth. I remember six weeks post op eating a small piece of soft chicken and choking on it. My thought would be don't rush the solid foods but your surgeon may be different from ours. Refried Beans were my favorite, with a little taco sauce. Good luck!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
