Mrs_O 118 Posted February 10, 2016 i am two weeks out today and kinda surprised that my steri strips haven't come off yet. one set has one that is a little loose but the rest are still good and stuck. anyone else? i am afraid to rip them off thats for sure
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted February 10, 2016 My incisions were glued. I was told to let the glue come off naturally and not to run or pick at it. I wouldn't recommend ripping anything off. If in doubt about what to do, call your surgeon's office.
grandmaofone 411 Posted February 10, 2016 (edited) I helped mine come off at a week. I am allergic to the glue and was rubbing them and they all came off. As long as it has been at least a week, I would just wash the area with warm Water and a mild soap. That should help them loosen. cindyw41 761 Posted February 10, 2016 I had 2 of the 5 come off. That's when I found out I had staples. I was very careful not to lose the other 3 till I saw my doctor.
amazon 579 Posted February 10, 2016 Mine stayed on, although were a little lifted around the edges. It was tempting! I think they came off at my two week appointment. It was nice because they have the adhesive remover. That stuff irritates my skin. So it all came off. My incisions were glued.

Mrs_O 118 Posted February 10, 2016 They told me at my follow up the day after surgery that they had sutured mine so I didn't have to come back in a week. I won't go back for 3 months I def ain't ripping these suckers off. I had just always heard they came off in about 7-10 days but guess not. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't alone. I do wash over them with my soap and Water in the shower but the edges are getting a little dirty. Just want to make sure I don't get some kind of infection. Stephanne 24 Posted February 11, 2016 Mine were all lifted on the edges but weren't really coming off on their own. One of the incisions was clearly healed and the strips were the loosest there so I kind of tested it by pulling gently. I came right off, basically looked like it was just stuck on the scab. So then I carefully peeled the others off. They all came off very easily. I wouldn't have pulled them if they hurt or pulled at all though. I was about 2 weeks out. As for the adhesive, I just got it good and wet in the shower and rubbed it off with my finger.
tiffie00 2 Posted February 11, 2016 I'm 6 weeks out my strips barely rubbed off this week
Dub 9,922 Posted February 11, 2016 It would appear that the strips lasted longer than the freaking umbilical hernia repair that was done along with my sleeve. I'm pissed about that. More surgery to look forward to later this year. Damn ! I think I peeled mine off in the shower after the first week.
