1 Year Anniversary and 200lbs Down!

Recommended Posts

Today is one year from my bypass surgery. So much has changed in this one year. Both my life and I are unrecognisable.

Now I am going to attempt to post the obligatory before and after shots. post-249376-14551218120617_thumb.jpg post-249376-14551218325473_thumb.jpg (please disregard my messy closet in the "after" picture!)

WOW! What a transformation one year out!!! You look fabulous! You were very pretty to begin with, but my goodness, you look like you never weighed more than you do right now!

I have a question for you as I get close to surgery. Do you have a lot of hanging skin (your picture does not look like you do) and if not, how did you keep from getting too much hanging? I need to lose about 100 or so pounds, and most of the weight is in my stomach, but I am afraid about hanging skin being a nuisance.

Congratulations on your weight loss! Can you also offer any tips to us newbie's? What was the hardest part, what was the easiest, etc. What an inspiration!

You look incredible!! And so much younger!

Cute hair as well! When I lose weight and am less self-conscious of my double chick and FAT neck (lol) I hope to go super short with my hair! I've wanted to for many years but couldn't bring myself to do so quite yet.

@@Renkoss thanks! I actually do have a fair amount of loose skin. It's mostly on my stomach and upper arms. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm going to have to have plastic surgery at some point. But I knew that going into it.

My advice to newbies is to follow the rules. Forgive yourself when you mess up or make mistakes, because you will. There is no such thing as perfection. Do not let your mistakes derail you. The hardest part was making tracking my food, weighing and measuring a habit. The easiest bit is tracking my food, weighing and measuring now that it is a habit.

@@sassyfrass23 thanks so much!

@@Inner Surfer Girl thanks! I am quite pleased.

I was very close to the same weight as you on my surgery day (387) and seeing this post and your awesome before and after pictures has given me a whole new boost in excitement and inspiration. I can't wait to be where you are! You look freaking incredible. How do you feel? Did losing that much weight that quickly make you tired, or make you tire easily? I'm struggling right now with this constant state of exhaustion. I just had blood work done and other than a mildly low Iron level, nothing is amiss. My surgeon thinks it's just my body's way of coping with losing so much so fast. I'm interested to know how the process went for you.

Congratulations on all of your success. :)

You are absolutely a beautiful young girl and certainly will reap the rewards of having had the surgery when you are young. You deserve more than a congrats; what you have accomplished is truly amazing!

WOOT WOOT!!

@cervaide thanks! I feel really good. Around 7 - 8 months out I was definitely having serious exhaustion and, like you, all my blood work was great. My doc said the same thing, my body was probably just in shock due to rapid weight loss. I definitely have a lot more energy now.

@@megpie22 I understand that worry but I guarantee that you will lose. I think how much depends on a number of different variables, including how hard you work at it. I do exercise. I exercise every day that I don't work. My job is minimum 12 hours a day so it's difficult to exercise those days, but I spend most of the work day running around anyway so I usually end up walking at least five miles over the day anyway. On a busy day last week I actually walked 14.6 miles over the course of the day. On days I don't work I usually walk or run or bike and then do strength training.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
